Nigel qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1990. After spending 5 years at international real estate advisory firm Healy & Baker (now Cushman and Wakefield) he left with Andrew Baines to form corporate advisory and investment specialists Doherty Baines.

The pair built the company into one of the leading corporate advisory and investment companies in the UK and Europe. Working with household names such as Casio Electronics, Cable & Wireless, O2, Schenker Logistics, Dixons, St James’s Place they dealt with transactions of all sizes, achieving corporate assets under management of over £2.6 billion and offering strategic advice capturing the full life cycle of a property from development, funding, occupation, and investment.

Over his career Nigel has been involved in transactions of various sizes on all types of commercial real estate including many portfolios of £100m+ to over £1billion.
​
He is considered an expert in balance sheet structures as well as investment and occupational cost advice.
In 2021 Nigel and Andrew decided to set up a new approach for delivering real estate solutions with a capital backed strategic advice and investment business delivering tailored results aligning the needs of both occupiers and investors.

Andrew qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1991. After spending 4 years at international real estate advisory firm Healy & Baker (now Cushman and Wakefield) he left in 1995 with Nigel Doherty to form corporate advisory and investment specialists Doherty Baines.

After 25 highly successful years running one of the leading investment and corporate advisory businesses in the UK & Europe he and Nigel decided to set up Band Capital as a real estate solutions business with capital backed strategic advice.

As well as being the lead real estate advisor to Cable & Wireless on their estate of over 700 properties Andrew has advised some of the best known names in the warehouse and distribution business, including DB Schenker, Agility Logistics, DHL and RM Group on all aspects of real estate be it as an operational asset, development opportunity or creating an investment.

He has been involved in consolidating businesses under one roof in new purpose bult accommodation as well as the roll out of multi-location distribution strategies in the UK and cross border.
​
Andrew is considered an expert in maximising the return of occupational real estate and the efficiency of how that real estate contributes to a company business plan.
